Job SummaryProvides leadership and oversees daily operations for Home Health and Hospice referral intake and reception departments. Oversees daily Home Health and Hospice referral intake operations, including department support operations. Develops and oversees referral intake process flow improvement, including the evaluation and implementation of referral intake efficiency improvements.
Primary Duties:- Manages department staff. Oversees recruitment and hiring, establishes productivity standards and expectations, coaches and motivates staff, monitors performance including completion of performance appraisals, and participates in disciplinary action and termination process.
- Develops and maintains departmental standards and operating objectives to ensure laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are followed.
- Works closely with department staff to identify and resolve problems by providing accurate, supportive assistance.
- Assists in the development and implementation of strategic plans for EHCS, focusing on patient access to Home Health and Hospice services. Establishes, implements, communicates, and monitors short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Develops and implements workflows and procedures that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of office and support operations.
- Participates in the development and implementation of performance improvement activities.
- Oversees the admission of Home Health and Hospice patients, monitors patient flow, and coordinates referral volumes to match clinical capacity and budgeted volumes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:REQUIRED for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Care, Public Administration, or related business/clinical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years of clinical experience.
- 1 year of supervisory/managerial or leadership experience, including demonstrated leadership skills to develop and implement complex operations.
- Clinical license in the State of Washington in a health-related field, with preference for license as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist.
- Knowledge and understanding of client-centered, customer-driven program design.
- Knowledge of State and Federal statutes regarding release of client information and State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations regarding Home Health, Hospice, and mental health services.
DESIRED for the position:
- Home Health and/or Hospice experience.
- 3 years of supervisory, management, or administrative experience.
