This is a hands-on role focused on turning ambiguity into clarity and helping the business confidently answer, "Can we trust this data?"

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Operations

  • Define and maintain data ownership, stewardship, classification, retention, and lifecycle controls in partnership with business and IT leaders
  • Design and manage governance workflows, including issue intake, triage, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, and continuous improvement

Business Partnership & Enablement
  • Act as a trusted data governance partner to the CIO and functional leaders, aligning governance priorities with business objectives
  • Partner with business and functional teams to identify where data quality issues or unclear definitions impact operations, reporting, or decision-making
  • Translate business needs into clear, practical data standards, definitions, and operating processes

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Adoption
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across business units and IT to embed governance into day-to-day workflows
  • Promote a data-driven culture through shared definitions, trusted sources, and clear accountability
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels to adopt consistent and disciplined data practices

Technology Stack & Performance
  • Partner with IT and data teams to implement governance-enabling tools and capabilities such as metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and data quality monitoring (Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon, MS Purview, etc.)
  • Support reliability and consistency of enterprise data by defining standards for master data, reference data, and critical business definitions

Value Delivery & ROI Measurement
  • Define and track governance success metrics including data quality improvements, reduced rework, reporting consistency, and faster decision-making
  • Partner with business units to prioritize governance initiatives that deliver measurable operational and financial impact

Analytics & AI Enablement
  • Strengthen the data foundation required for analytics and AI by ensuring trusted sources, clear definitions, lineage, and appropriate access controls
  • Support responsible AI adoption through governance practices addressing privacy, security, and appropriate usage

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data operations with demonstrated success in building standards and driving adoption
  • Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality practices, master data, and data lifecycle controls
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills
  • Ability to drive change and accountability in complex organizations
  • Experience implementing enterprise data and analytics solutions

What will make you stand out?
  • Experience in multi-entity or field service environments
  • Private equity or high-growth environments
  • Certifications or training in data governance frameworks, methodologies, or standards, such as DAMA-DMBOK, ISO 8000, or DCAM
  • Strategic Impact: Directly improve how Encore operates, decides, and grows through trusted data
  • Leadership Opportunity: Build and shape Encore's data governance foundation
  • Cutting-Edge Work: Enable analytics and AI with a strong data backbone
