Full Job Description
If you're the kind of person who thrives in a fast-paced environment full of ambiguity, loves to make sense of data and excels at people management, we have a role for you.

As the Manager of Build you'll be responsible for leading Yardzen's Build business, assembling and managing a network of vetted outdoor contractors, a team of Project Managers who act as Yardzen clients' single point of contact and driving ambitious revenue growth.

The ideal candidate is a strategic operator who enjoys solving complex problems, developing people, improving systems and driving measurable business results.

Responsibilities:

  • The machine. You'll design the systems that let Build scale. You'll standardize the playbook and document what works, kill the bottlenecks and put AI and automation on the repetitive work so your team spends its energy where it actually moves the number.
  • The business. Accountability for Build revenue and growth. You'll own conversion by market, forecast performance, spot risk and opportunity early, and partner with the CEO, Head of Marketing, Product and Design Operations to clear anything standing between a client and a finished yard. When a market is underperforming, you build the plan and you fix it.
  • The team. You'll recruit, coach and develop a team of Build Project Managers who operate at a high level. You set clear expectations and KPIs, hold a high bar on accountability and build a culture of ownership, outcomes and speed.
  • The contractor network. You'll ensure the contractors in our network consistently hit standards for conversion, responsiveness, quality and execution. You expand the network to fuel growth, only when the data deems necessary.

Who you are:

  • An owner. You run toward problems and you take the number personally.
  • A builder of teams. You recruit A-players, raise the bar and make everyone around you better.
  • A systems thinker. You see the process behind the result and you engineer it to scale.
  • Data-driven. You lead with KPIs and dashboards, not anecdotes.
  • 0-1 thinker. You thrive when priorities move often and the strategy is being authored

Your background:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, project management, program management or business operations, ideally owning a business or a P&L.
  • 3+ years leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • A track record of owning a number and beating it.
  • Experience managing external partners, vendors or contractor networks.
  • Strong analytical chops. You use data, KPIs and dashboards to drive decisions.
  • Experience in landscape construction, residential construction, outdoor living or a related industry strongly preferred.
  • A bias toward fast-paced, high-growth environments where the priorities evolve quickly.

What we offer:

  • Remote work, always: We're a remote-first company
  • Full coverage for you: 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Competitive compensation: Salary that matches your skills and experience
  • Support for growing families: 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • Monthly perks: Wellness, cell phone, and internet stipends to keep you connected and cared for
