Job DescriptionWhat you'll accomplish with usAs a Manager, North American Payroll Services, you'll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
- Provide engaging leadership by developing a team, overseeing performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
- Assume overall accountability for Canadian and U.S. payroll operations, including tax and regulatory compliance.
- Define and evolve the organizational structure, priorities, and objectives of the department in alignment with business strategies.
- Lead the optimization of payroll and HR processes by resolving operational challenges and leveraging system capabilities, including Workday and artificial intelligence.
- Act as a strategic partner to stakeholders and contribute to the delivery of large-scale initiatives and projects.
- Represent the department to senior leadership by communicating strategic directions, results, and key issues.
- Drive continuous improvement and the transformation of payroll processes through innovation and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
- Establish performance indicators and a governance framework to optimize results and support informed decision-making.
- Ensure rigorous management of operations and projects, including planning, priorities, timelines, and deliverable quality.
- Implement control, audit, and quality assurance mechanisms and provide strategic leadership on cross-functional issues.
- Demonstrate influential leadership in transformation initiatives, system migrations, and mergers and acquisitions activities.

- Is known for their engaging leadership and ability to coach and positively influence multi-site teams.
- Stands out for their strong technical expertise in Canadian and U.S. payroll.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Is recognized for their excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Has 15 years of relevant experience in payroll management or related fields, including 10 years in leadership roles.
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Has advanced knowledge of human resources operations and payroll.
- Has an advanced level of English and French proficiency, as the role involves communicating with employees and partners across Canada and the United States, training bilingual teams, and participating in meetings conducted in English and French on a regular basis.
- Experience with Workday is considered a strong asset.
