Position Summary - Maintenance Manager

This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings, utilities, ammonia refrigeration systems, offal operations, and wastewater systems. The Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance programs and personnel to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a safe working environment.

Schedule: Typically 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM, with additional hours as needed based on business demands and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise maintenance operations for all plant equipment, facilities, utilities, refrigeration, and wastewater systems.
  • Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements, capital projects, and facility expansions.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are properly trained on equipment operation, safety requirements, and technical skills.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment while ensuring compliance with OSHA, PSM, environmental, and company safety programs.
  • Monitor plant equipment and systems to minimize downtime, anticipate issues, and resolve maintenance-related problems promptly.
  • Manage and maintain the SAP computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including work orders, preventive maintenance programs, and parts inventory.
  • Analyze maintenance data and key performance indicators to improve asset utilization, maintenance costs, PM compliance, and overall plant performance.
  • Ensure the Coastal Training System is implemented and that team members receive the resources and training necessary for success.
  • Monitor and administer purchasing activities related to maintenance parts, equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Ensure ammonia refrigeration and wastewater treatment systems are properly maintained and remain compliant with all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the departmental budget while achieving financial objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and accountability for maintenance team members.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 6+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with standard computer applications and maintenance management systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information to groups.
  • Technical Skills: Strong industrial maintenance knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Electrical systems
    • Ammonia refrigeration systems
    • Hydraulics
    • Mechanical maintenance
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience supervising maintenance personnel and managing maintenance operations.
  • Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
