Job Description:

Role Definition:

Lead internal logistics operations within the Supply Chain organization at the Pontiac facility, supporting Fuel Systems and Aftertreatment production. This role is responsible for logistics safety leadership, project support, inventory management and compliance, material flow execution, and overall logistics performance.

Accountability includes ensuring efficient logistics throughput and velocity to meet the needs of internal and external customers, while driving cost management and continuous improvement initiatives. The role oversees all material distribution and flow activities across the facility, including management of the third-party logistics provider.

What You Will Do:

  • Utilize Safety Driven methodology to ensure all logistics operations are safe, and areas of opportunity are identified for actions to be taken.
  • Collaborate with and support the Operations teams on a daily basis with logistics execution and process improvement to meet facility objectives.
  • Lead and direct third-party logistics provider to meet KPIs, including cost and performance related to receiving, shipping, material movement, and transactional discipline
  • Improve logistics and material handling processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning by working with extended supply chain team and manufacturing engineering to utilize technology and modern manufacturing tools.
  • Utilize technology to improve transactional discipline to improve Inventory Record Accuracy.
  • Lead robust Root Cause Corrective Action initiatives to support operations and logistics excellence.

Degree Requirement:

Degree OR equivalent experience.

Top Candidates May Also Have:

  • Supply Chain related degree.
  • Mfg Pro / QAD knowledge and experience.
  • APICS certifications.
  • Logistics project improvement experience.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
