Manager, Learning Business Partner/Consultant

Capital One's Enterprise Learning & Development team is looking for a Learning Business Partner/Consultant to shape and deliver the learning and development strategy for one or more lines of business. You'll partner with key business and Human Resources (HR) leaders to design and implement learning initiatives for associates and leaders across the company.  

We're seeking someone who can seamlessly connect business objectives with learning solutions, translating strategic ideas into impactful, learner-centered experiences. Whether your background is in business, program/product management, or learning strategy, your ability to build alignment and drive progress will be critical.   • Partner with Accountable Executives, HR leaders, and key business stakeholders to co-create the annual strategic learning agenda, defining vision, OKRs, operating, and governance models, and ensuring seamless integration and execution across business and learning initiatives

  • Collaborate with business partners to maximize knowledge sharing, peer learning, and optimize resource allocation to achieve the broader strategy

  • Lead design and delivery of learning programs and iterates from feedback and data

  • Project manage multiple initiatives, leading program teams and providing strategic support as needed

  • Manage project scope, timelines, and budget, identifying and mitigating risks or escalating as necessary

  • Own the measurement and evaluation strategy to ensure learning solutions deliver desired outcomes

  • Collaborate on learner communications and external storytelling, sharing insights and outcomes about your work

Here is what you need to be successful:

  • Experience educating, onboarding, or supporting technical and non-technical roles

  • Experience partnering with key stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and define new initiatives for business impact

  • Communicate effectively both written and verbally, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, lead through change, and deliver in a matrixed environment

  • High level of initiative, ownership, and a customer-centric mindse

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with other L&D professionals to drive efficiencies and share best practices

  • Apply expertise in adult learning to shape learning strategy and products

  • Comfort facilitating and leading training/workshops effectively, engaging at all levels

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in client facing consulting 

  • At least 2 years of experience in learning and development

  • At least 1 year of experience in project management

  • At least 1 year of experience in learning strategy creation

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience advising and influencing leadership

  • 5+ years of management consulting experience

  • 3+ years of experience in strategy creation

  • Familiarity with change management

  • Experience facilitating across a variety of modalities including in person and virtual programs

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $134,400 - $153,300 for Learning Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
