What You Will Do
As a Laboratory Leader, you will provide day-to-day management, operational oversight, and strategic leadership for an assigned Clinical Laboratory, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient laboratory services.
• Direct and manage daily laboratory operations, staffing, and workflows
• Oversee supervisors and laboratory staff, including hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions
• Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets with accountability for financial performance
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, corporate compliance, and quality standards
• Lead and support continuous performance improvement and quality initiatives
• Monitor key performance indicators related to laboratory quality, productivity, safety, and service delivery
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, service records are accurate, and testing procedures meet scientific standards
• Collaborate across departments and with leadership to support organizational goals
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
• Ensure patient-centered, age-appropriate services are delivered within the department's scope of care
Experience Requirements
• Supervisory experience in Laboratory Services preferred
Special Skills, License & Knowledge Requirements
• Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Generalist or Specialist license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
• Strong planning, quality management, and operational leadership skills
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities

• Adheres to all applicable HIPAA regulations related to medical records, laboratory data, patient information, and confidential records
