Full Job Description
Responsibilities

This position is an IT management position that assists on delivering Epic application solutions as well as other 3rd party clinical systems by investigating processes to understand data and communications flow with individual tasks and transactions. The manager typically fulfills multiple roles throughout the development, implementation, management, and on-going support of comprehensive clinical information systems. Gains knowledge of the Epic EMR software, as well as the organizations operations and workflow, and works closely with the Epic project team's application analysts and clinical leaders to translate business needs into EMR functionality.

This individual participates in the development of workflows, system configuration, change documentation, and training staff on EPIC clinical application functionality. Analyzes procedures and problems within manual/automated health care systems; reports findings and when applicable recommends options for resolutions. This requires the individual to stay current with the system and/or application as well as interfacing with appropriate departmental and external analysts.

Must employ excellent communication skills in sharing information with users in the department. Works independently in completing project tasks with other project information; oversees implementation support and maintenance of Epic clinical system software; performs quality assurance and reviews releases of new functionality.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $94,497.00-$118,131.00 salaried. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member's compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity)

Qualifications

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or related experience

Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of increasingly responsible management experience, with a focus on Epic application systems in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience in project and change management.
  • Familiarity with provider and clinical workflow and organizational processes.
  • Subject matter expertise in multiple clinical and ancillary application modules/solutions with experiences in Epic a plus.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to present complex clinical systems technology issues in a clear, concise and understandable manner.

Required Certification/Registration:
  • Proficiency in more than two computer environments or platforms.
  • Ability to work with a computer terminal for extended periods of time.

Physical Requirements: Travel to multiple facilities is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.

May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
