About the Role: As a
Manager, Investment Accounting - Reporting & Audit, you'll be an integral part of a collaborative, agile team. You'll design, analyze, and implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and exceed expectations.
The Manager, Reporting & Audit position reports to the Senior Manager, and can be based out of Overland Park, Kansas, or remotely for the right candidate. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
- Lead end-to-end audit ownership across multiple entities (EI, EWS, Combined, FINCO, and Crawford), including PBC preparation, audit confirmations, and response to interim and year-end auditor inquiries.
- Oversee the preparation of investment and fair value footnotes and disclosures for both EI and EWS consolidated financial statements.
- Manage the preparation of consolidated QTD/YTD investment, equity, and cash flow rollforward schedules.
- Direct the review of deferred G/L analysis, NCI documentation, consolidation tagging entries, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Partner with external audit teams and internal stakeholders to coordinate audit logistics, resolve open items, and maintain strong control documentation.
- Develop, mentor, and manage a team of reporting and audit accountants; set priorities, review work product, and support professional development.
- Coordinate with Accounting Operations on cross-functional close and consolidation deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, internal controls, and documentation standards.
What We're Looking For:- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 8+ years of investment accounting or financial reporting experience.
- CPA preferred or actively in process.
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and consolidation accounting principles.
- Experience with investment-related ERP systems (PeopleSoft preferred).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple audit and reporting cycles.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (advanced Excel required).
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
