Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly regional financial reports including income statements and cash flow statements

  • Support financial reporting for monthly, quarterly, and yearly requirements
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses for customer proposals and reporting
  • Assist with annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors
  • Ensure internal controls comply with Sarbanes-Oxley standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements for reporting efficiency

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Prepare and analyze the consolidated monthly regional internal financial reporting package, including income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flow and selected accounts, providing meaningful explanations of results with insights into trends, variances and key business drivers.
  • Coordinate regional consolidation for multiple entities and support resolution of consolidation issues as required.
  • Prepare monthly top-side journal entries in HFM.
  • Prepare selected financial data and analyses supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses to support customer proposals and/or customer reporting requirements.
  • Support annual audit testing and quarterly review activities with external auditors.
  • Ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, including disclosure controls and procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and reporting efficiencies.
  • Document accounting analyses and conclusions on selected matters in quarterly accounting memos.
  • Research and analyze technical accounting matters and document conclusions.
  • Provide guidance and development support to offshore resources.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting with exposure to multi-entity consolidations and preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Experience using reporting tools such as HFM and Power BI.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to execute in a dynamic and fast-paced environment by demonstrating organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Experience working and problem-solving independently, organizing and prioritizing workload, and completing tasks on time

It would be great if you also have:
  • Public accounting experience in an audit or advisory capacity
  • Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
  • Technical accounting experience including researching, analyzing, and documenting accounting matters
  • Experience in the logistics and transportation industry
  • Experience mentoring or supervising accounting professionals
