Position Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for providing leadership for ongoing application support and project participation. This position leads a team of Analysts that 1) keeps our Student Information System (SIS/ERP) applications up and functioning as expected, 2) leads on-going minor enhancements as appropriate, and 3) oversees participation in projects as required. This position will focus on (but is not limited to) supporting our Administrative and Back Office functions - including but not limited to: Finance, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.

The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends. This job may have On-call rotation duties.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages a team of individuals through on-going support activities and support-related projects, updates, upgrades, etc. Guides them with numerous processes and assists them in developing their skill sets
  • Assists with ensuring maximum system uptime and availability for all SIS/ERP systems and related subsystem
  • Answers inquiries and resolves problems logged by users or systems personnel, expedites and coordinates repairs to systems. Performs Root Cause Analysis on outages and major issues
  • Configures, installs, tests, analyzes, and maintains software and services as required, related to the SIS/ERP systems
  • Develops and implements standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles
  • Manages the resource load of the team, including proactively communicating any resource constraints
  • Participates in and leads Continuous Improvement activities
  • Adapts to change productively, works with very minimal supervision, and handles other tasks as assigned
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor


Job Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field of study and
  • Three to five years of SIS/ERP experience and
  • One to three years of supervisory experience


or

  • An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above


Preferred:
  • Five plus years of related experience
  • Higher Education experience


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of ERP/SIS Applications, systems integrations, and customer support, Banner specific experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of project management principles, processes, and techniques
  • Skill in budget/resource management
  • Skill in organization, coordination, and management
  • Skill in people leadership and supervision
  • Skill in verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to audiences with a wide range of technical skills
  • Skill in positive, productive, and flexible customer service

  • Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to draw conclusions and prepare accurate reports of results


Physical Requirements:

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with staff contact and frequent interruptions.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an standard office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate (up to 50 pounds) amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; may be required to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
