The Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Digital & IT Procurement is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across Carrier's technology portfolio, including software, SaaS, cloud services, telecommunications, IT hardware, AI solutions, and professional services.
This role partners closely with IT, Digital, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to lead strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate complex commercial agreements, optimize technology spend, and drive value through disciplined supplier and contract management. The position plays a key role in supporting Carrier's digital transformation and procurement governance objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesCategory Strategy & Business Partnership- Develop and execute category strategies aligned to Carrier's technology roadmap and business objectives.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to identify sourcing opportunities, manage demand, and support strategic initiatives.
- Utilize market intelligence and benchmarking to inform sourcing decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Strategic Sourcing & Contract Negotiation- Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including spend analysis, supplier assessments, RFx events, negotiations, contracting, and implementation.
- Negotiate software licensing agreements, SaaS subscriptions, cloud services, telecommunications, managed services, and professional services contracts.
- Partner with Legal and stakeholders to mitigate commercial, operational, and contractual risk.
Supplier & Performance Management- Manage strategic supplier relationships and drive supplier performance, innovation, and accountability.
- Conduct supplier reviews and support governance activities to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Identify and mitigate supplier and market risks that may impact operations or cost.
Contract & Spend Management- Drive proactive management of contract renewals, technology commitments, and supplier obligations.
- Support contract lifecycle management activities to improve visibility, compliance, and planning.
- Deliver measurable value through cost reduction, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, and commercial optimization.
Procurement Governance- Promote adherence to procurement policies, standards, and sourcing processes across technology spend categories.
- Support reporting, savings tracking, and leadership updates related to sourcing initiatives and category performance.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supply chain.
- 5+ years of experience sourcing and negotiating software, SaaS, cloud services, telecom, and/or IT professional services.
- Strong contract negotiation, financial analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a global or matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience negotiating agreements with major technology providers such as Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, AWS, Google Cloud, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Cisco, or similar suppliers.
- Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms.
- Knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) practices.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, cloud migration, AI, or enterprise technology initiatives.
Pay RangeThe annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
