The
Manager II Technology is responsible for leading the delivery, support, and operational management of a portfolio of 31 Health Plan applications supporting an external healthcare customer. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for production support, application maintenance, incident management, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position oversees applications built around the FACETS claims platform and ensures high availability, performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
The Senior Technology Manager leads a team of 7-8 technology professionals while managing external contractors and vendor partners to deliver reliable, high-quality technology services aligned with business objectives and contractual service level agreements (SLAs).
How you will make an impact:- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of a portfolio of 31 Health Plan applications supporting business-critical operations.
- Ensure application availability, stability, scalability, and performance across the application landscape.
- Lead the 24x7 production support function, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, problems, and service requests.
- Provide technology leadership for applications integrated with the FACETS claims processing platform.
- Serve as the primary technology contact for the external customer.
- Oversees information systems function for a site, system, or special initiative.
- Manages multiple cost centers and/or plan of record projects; delivers and supports software system solutions that support the operations of their functional areas.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 7-8 technology professionals.
- Manages at least a single application (or the equivalent capital and/or level of responsibility and complexity).
- Evaluates all directives, change orders, and projects as to their impact on tactical plans, budgets, and contract compliance.
- Oversees and implements new subsystems, procedures and techniques; manages implementation/integration projects to ensure deliverables.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key business partners.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Minimum Requirements:Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience leading project teams, application software development, maintenance or implementation and support, including 3 years of management or leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:- 10+ years of experience in Information Technology with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- 5+ years of experience managing healthcare payer applications and production support teams.
- Strong experience supporting the FACETS claims administration platform.
- Experience managing large application portfolios in healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading production support organizations with responsibility for incident, problem, and change management.
- Experience managing external vendors and offshore/onshore contractor teams.
- Strong understanding of ITIL Service Management principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $146,556 to $219,834.
