Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Health & Safety Manager who will lead Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at a large-scale research, development, and office campus in Piscataway, NJ. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving site-wide safety and environmental management systems within an Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) environment. The EHS Manager will ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations while proactively reducing operational risk across the site. This role will partner closely with facilities operations, project teams, and contractors to embed a strong safety culture and drive consistent adherence to high-risk work controls. In addition to compliance oversight, the EHS Manager will lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety training initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site-wide EHS programs and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Oversee high-risk work programs including LOTO, confined space, fall protection, hot work, and contractor safety.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, stormwater, air permits, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action (RCCA) processes.
  • Deliver safety training, communications, audits, and engagement programs to strengthen site-wide safety culture.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety within industrial, manufacturing, R&D, or IFM environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and environmental compliance programs.
  • Experience managing contractor safety programs and complex multi-stakeholder facility operations.
  • Proven ability to lead incident investigations, audits, and compliance management systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence leadership and frontline teams.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; RCRA and DOT knowledge preferred.
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
  • Experience with EHS management systems such as Gensuite or equivalent platforms.
  • Background in facilities, utilities, engineering, or technical operations environments.
