Full Job Description
Location: Cambridge Head Office, Hybrid

Job Vacancy: Permanent, full-time

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000

We are currently seeking a Manager, Finance Operations toprovide leadership & guidance to a team of Financial Analysts & Senior Financial Analysts while overseeing the reporting & analysis of the homes' financial operations. This role will interact with different team managers across our corporate office and at the home level to provide accurate, timely, detailed reporting on their portfolio of homes which will contribute to key operational decisions.

This role is eligible for hybrid work schedule. This position requires reliable internet access and the ability to participate in video calls and team collaboration tools. Standard business hours with occasional need for additional hours during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the month-end processes to ensure accuracy and compliance including, but not limited to:
  • Reviewing financial statements and journal entries completed by the finance team, ensuring these are accurate and in accordance with month end deadlines
  • Reviewing all account reconciliations to ensure all data is accurate and all discrepancies are addressed accordingly
  • Guiding the Financial Analysts in providing thorough in-depth analysis of the financial statements to aid in operational decisions
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, providing key insights and analysis to Upper Management
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the annual home operating budgets, working with different teams to ensure all budget details are accurate
  • Lead & provide mentorship to the team of financial analysts to create an environment of learning, inclusivity, and cooperation
  • Identify opportunities and suggest improvements to current processes to strengthen financial reporting and operations
  • Lead discussions with other department leads to cross functionally streamline processes and increase efficiencies
  • Participate in the interim and year-end audits
  • Other ad hoc projects

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred or in progress)
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge & understanding of financial statements, financial operations, internal controls and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Strong leadership skills and people management skills
  • Excellent organizational & prioritization skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Excel)
  • Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with Sage Intacct is considered an asset
  • An understanding of the senior care continuum is considered an asset
