Full Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Advise clients and be accountable for delivering high-quality tax services to family enterprises, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and closely held businesses while serving as a trusted advisor on complex tax matters
  • Review and provide analyses of complex individual, gift, estate, trust, partnership, and business tax returns, including matters involving family-owned operating businesses and investment entities
  • Build, manage, direct, and monitor multiple client engagement teams while maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Lead and mentor tax professionals by providing technical guidance, reviewing work product, supporting career development, and fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Oversee engagement economics, including budgeting, staffing, resource planning, risk management, billing, collections, and overall project performance
  • Contribute to the growth of the Family Enterprise practice through business development, process improvement initiatives, market-facing activities, and collaboration across KPMG Private, Asset Management, and other specialty tax groups
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of recent tax experience serving family enterprises, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, privately held businesses, partnerships, or related clients within a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required; licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
  • Extensive knowledge of individual income tax, trust taxation, estate and gift taxation, family office tax matters, and privately held business structures
  • Experience with partnership taxation, pass-through entities, operating partnerships, and partnership allocations
  • Exposure to asset management, alternative investments, private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, or investment partnership taxation preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple client engagements, managing teams, developing staff, and building strong client relationships
  • Excellent advisory, business development, verbal communication, written communication, and project management skills with the ability to articulate complex tax matters to sophisticated clients
