Full Job Description
Position summary

The position fills a critical role for setting the strategic and tactical direction for the maintenance department by directing activities for the maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of plant equipment. This position will also be responsible for reducing/controlling costs and improving profitability through equipment reliability; minimizing unplanned downtime through the application of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and overall improved department performance. Additionally, it maintains facility assets and infrastructure including utilities, buildings and structures, and the grounds. This position will manage a group of direct and indirect reports.

Key accountabilities
  • Provide leadership to ensure safety, environmental and maintenance quality standards are met
  • Ensure all established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed within managed departments
  • Utilize plant and corporate resources to ensure appropriate training requirements are met for reporting line
  • Develop departmental goals and objectives that provide direction to maintain a competitive organization and meet overall business objectives
  • Prepare budgets and manage costs for Maintenance and Utilities cost centers
  • Prepare capital budget
  • Manage daily maintenance operation and utilities
  • Lead a proactive and preventive maintenance program
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of repair materials/spare parts and optimize working capital through standardization where possible
  • Manage outside contractors and vendor activities as needed to ensure efficient use of facilities, equipment and facilities repair, and other related activities
  • Use capital project best practices and industry standards to meet regulatory codes
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control representatives to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and condition of machines and equipment
  • Provide strong leadership, guidance, expertise while supporting the development of the maintenance supervision team, salaried technicians, maintenance associates, including apprentices though training, coaching, feedback and corrective action when necessary
  • Ability to oversee multiple shifts, work with all departments and be very flexible
  • Demonstrate customer service, people, leadership, and organizational skills with track record of achieving positive business results

What we are looking for:
  • Associate's degree in engineering technology or related technical field or relatable experience
  • 5+ years experience in maintenance programs in a plant environment
  • 3+ years of solid supervisory experience
  • Background in preventative maintenance, reliability improvement, utilities and control systems
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management principles, policies and procedures
  • Project management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management software

Salary Range:
$125,600 - $172,700
