Sr. Engineering Manager

As the Senior Engineering Manager (Repair Development), you will lead the overall activities and operations of the engineering team by assigning, coordinating, reviewing, and actively contributing to the design, development, and validation of technical projects and engineering initiatives. This role is responsible for driving the development of new repair solutions and tooling strategies that support business growth objectives and operational excellence.

What you'll do
  • Develop and implement standards, policies and procedures for engineering and technical work performed in the relevant department/project team across multiple sites.
  • Plan, organize, direct and control the activities and operations of an engineering department/project team.
  • Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings.
  • May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department/project team.
  • Oversee engineering projects to ensure they are technically sound and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory standards.
  • Monitor the progress of on-going projects, make recommendations for improving the process to meet the needs of the end-users, performs job cost reporting, budget analysis and reporting of overall project control.
  • Determine if assistance is required from outside contractors, initiates arrangements, provides technical data and assists contractors with related support services.
  • Exercise authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
  • Actively participate as a member of the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of departmental strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline, including at least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering role or function.
  • 3+ years' experience in the maintenance repair and overhaul space


Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years' experience in the engine maintenance repair and overhaul space
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise business systems and related operational tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
