Description

Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead our Airborne Power & Control Engineering Product Support Team, based in Kirkland, WA. This is a unique opportunity for a proven leader in power electronics who thrives on driving innovation while ensuring exceptional product support services to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Position Overview

As Manager of Electrical Engineering, you will oversee and mentor a team of Electrical Engineers and Technicians tasked with updating designs, performing failure analyses, conducting qualifications, and integrating complex electrical engineering aircraft power systems projects. In this role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring that engineering initiatives align with our strategic goals while supporting the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard top-tier talent to build and sustain a highly capable team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development for team members.

Project Management & Collaboration
  • Oversee aircraft power systems engineering projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, budgets, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support proposals, estimates, plans, and budgets for New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Advocate for safety-critical processes and uphold a safe work environment.

Technical Expertise & Innovation
  • Drive technical excellence by providing guidance and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DO-254 compliance and processes.
  • Evaluate engineering tools for effectiveness and lead implementation efforts where necessary.
  • Lead failure investigations and root cause analyses, coaching team members through complex problem-solving processes.
  • Act as process owner to continuously refine company specifications and incorporate learned lessons.

Organizational Development & Strategic Impact

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range
  • $139,516 - $222,863 per year (mid-point: $181,189).
