Job Description

Blackwood is seeking a Delivery Manager within the Transformation Acceleration Office (TAO) to strengthen post-sale delivery execution. Reporting directly to Delivery Management leadership, this individual will independently manage an assigned portfolio of customer engagements while operating within co-delivery standards, governance model, and escalation framework.

The role combines disciplined project management with customer-facing professional-services leadership across cybersecurity and data engagements. It is an engagement-execution role focused on driving customer outcomes rather than sales ownership or hands-on engineering.

ENGAGEMENT PLANNING AND MOBILIZATION

  • Review the governing statement of work, purchase order, assumptions, constraints, customer responsibilities, deliverables, milestones, and acceptance requirements before launch.
  • Facilitate internal handoffs from sales and solutions teams; identify missing inputs, unclear commitments, and conditions requiring clarification or escalation.
  • Build the engagement plan, schedule, governance cadence, stakeholder map, communications approach, RACI, and required project-control artifacts.
  • Confirm customer and partner readiness, access, staffing, prerequisites, and launch dependencies; prepare and lead or co-lead kickoff meetings.

DELIVERY EXECUTION AND GOVERNANCE

  • Manage assigned engagements from mobilization through acceptance and closeout, maintaining alignment among authorized scope, delivery activity, customer expectations, and available resources.
  • Coordinate customers, Blackwood teams, technology manufacturers, and delivery partners through recurring governance and clear accountability.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, actions, decisions, dependencies, acceptance status, and corrective actions; escalate material variance before it becomes delivery failure.

CUSTOMER AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point-of-contact for assigned customers.
  • Build trusted relationships across customer leaders, technical stakeholders, executive sponsors, account teams, engineers, partners, operations, and finance.
  • Translate technical activity into clear business, schedule, risk, commercial, and decision implications; deliver concise executive ready status communications.
  • Manage difficult conversations professionally, including delays, missed dependencies, scope tension, unresolved decisions, and recovery planning.

SCOPE, SCHEDULE, AND COMMERCIAL CONTROL

  • Maintain the integrated schedule and forecast milestone and completion performance.
  • Track effort consumption, remaining hours, progress, resource use, and estimate at completion indicators where applicable.
  • Identify overrun, underutilization, delay, margin, invoicing, or acceptance risk and raise it promptly.
  • Maintain delivery within authorized scope; identify out of scope requests and coordinate formal change control.
  • Support timesheet, invoicing, milestone, acceptance, and commercial documentation requirements. Do not independently alter commitments or promise unapproved dates, resources, deliverables, outcomes, or changes.

RISK, ISSUE, DEPENDENCY, AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain current risks, issues, actions, decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and change records with clear ownership, impact, mitigation, and target dates.
  • Facilitate mitigation, contingency, recovery, and decision-making activities; document customer caused delays, unresolved prerequisites, scope changes, and material decisions.
  • Escalate material risk, commercial exceptions, resource conflicts, customer escalations, and recovery situations to the Delivery Manager.

RESOURCE, PARTNER, AND DELIVERY ASSURANCE

  • Coordinate internal and partner resources against approved plans; confirm role clarity, availability, readiness, and expected outputs.
  • Operate effectively in partner-led and supported engagements and track partner obligations, reporting, timesheets, deliverable contributions, dependencies, and performance concerns.
  • Maintain sufficient technical fluency to manage dependencies, challenge incomplete planning, and communicate delivery risk without assuming engineering authority.
  • Maintain accurate project plans, status reports, meeting notes, RAID records, decision and change logs, resource plans, acceptance evidence, and closeout documentation in Wrike and other approved systems.
  • Ensure the governing statement of work and related commercial records are linked to the engagement as required by Blackwood process.

CLOSEOUT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Confirm deliverable completion, acceptance evidence, outstanding actions, financial reconciliation, knowledge transfer, and transition requirements.
  • Facilitate lessons learned and customer feedback; capture reusable patterns, corrective actions, and practical improvements to Blackwood's delivery management practices.
  • Participate in portfolio reviews, resource planning, delivery health reviews, and escalation forums; communicate early, accurately, and constructively.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen.
  • Willingness to permit a background check prior to employment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible project, program, engagement, implementation, or professional services delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership of customer-facing enterprise technology engagements from planning through closeout.
  • Experience managing scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, deliverables, resources, customer communications, and executive reporting.
  • Experience delivering in one or more of Blackwood's core solution areas: security operations, identity, cloud or network security, and/or data and observability.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements and prioritize effectively in a changing environment.
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted, collaborative relationships across customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Reputation for strong ethics, integrity, accountability, sound judgment, and customer orientation.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new commercial off-the-shelf technologies.
  • Availability to work with customer schedules and occasionally travel to customer sites, as required.
  • Passion to hustle and have fun.

Additional Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with Wrike, Salesforce, PSA platforms, or comparable delivery tools.
  • Experience in cybersecurity professional services, systems integration, or technology implementation.
  • Experience supporting federal, state and local government, education, healthcare, and commercial enterprise customers.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, OEM professional services, implementation partners, or distributed technical teams.
  • Familiarity with statements of work, fixed fee and time and materials delivery, milestone billing, change control, acceptance management, and project financials.
  • Experience managing customer recovery situations or executive escalations.
