Full Job Description
Job Overview:

The Manager, Customer Marketing, is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle. They are responsible for the growth of the base business by bringing profitable innovation to the market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a category or customer channel, execute the company's long-term plan (LTP) within the Marketing and Product Development department.
  • Develop new product opportunities using a sound business case approach based on market data, focus groups, and other sources on trends in the marketplace
  • Execute creation of new products- working in conjunction with product development, operations, and other cross- functional teams
  • Gain organizational alignment around these plans including Sr. Management team and sales
  • Own, manage and analyze new product costing and creation of product specifications for new products
  • Prepare and present business reviews and marketing plans for multiple categories
  • Manage at least one direct report by providing coaching and mentoring through formal and informal reviews
  • Set project guidelines and expectations with the report, providing assistance and acting as a resource where applicable
  • Share category expertise acquired through custom and syndicated research, internet searches and market visits
  • Create and analyze sales and category reports
  • Participate in new product sensory tastings and part of the plant trial team and first production runs where required
  • Create and reviews packaging, label design/copy and artwork
  • Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and team (including all direct report 'people leaders') accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
  • Performance Management: Ensure proper onboarding and development of all staff by completing induction process, coaching and developing capabilities, executing PDP start/mid-year dialogues, and engaging in corrective action when required
  • Talent & Succession: Ensure job vacancies are filled by completing the required processes and representing the company with integrity throughout the recruitment process
  • Training: Ensure completion of function compliance training
  • Engagement: Ensure an engaged workforce through development of sound working relationships and execution of Employee Survey action plans

The Recipe for Success:
  • Completion of University diploma in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Product Development Marketing role
  • Previous marketing experience within the Food Manufacturing industry
  • Project management with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve
  • Requires experience creating marketing and selling materials (brochures, sell sheets, website and social media content, presentations)
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, with a strong understanding of Excel
  • Solid understanding of urgency in responding to internal (other departments) and external (suppliers, agencies, customers) partners
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with clear communications (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
  • A self- starter with the ability to identify projects, solutions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
