Full Job Description
Salary: Band 10 ($118,735.50)

Status: Full-time term (18-month term), Unionized

Work environment: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH). Employees must be available to work in the office up to five (5) days per week when required to support business priorities.

WHAT'S THE TEAM LIKE

We're the team behind Calgary Airports' creative content, digital storytelling and social media presence. From campaigns and web content to social channels and multimedia storytelling, we help shape how our audiences experience YYC online and across owned channels. In this role, you'll lead the planning and creation of compelling content, support clear communications, and help our Crew tell stories that connect people to place.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the planning, development and delivery of creative content across Calgary Airports' digital, social and owned communication channels.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and implement content and communications campaigns that support key business drivers.
  • Act as a content and communications advisor to teams across Calgary Airports, with a focus on owned channels and support for paid and earned opportunities where required.
  • Provide communications counsel, planning support and guidance on key messaging for external-facing teams including Community Engagement, Commercial and Retail, Parking, Air Service Development and Government Relations.
  • Develop and manage content calendars, creative briefs, key messaging documents and communications plans that support proactive storytelling.
  • Write, edit and guide compelling content for external-facing channels, including website copy, social media, campaign content and multimedia storytelling.
  • Manage Calgary Airports' digital asset library, including images, videos, graphics, in-terminal digital signage and other multimedia content, ensuring assets are organized, accessible and appropriately licensed.
  • Manage and maintain externally facing web and social media platforms, including yyc.com, ybw.com and Calgary Airports' social media accounts, in collaboration with internal partners.
  • Monitor content performance, support content audits and identify opportunities to improve reach, relevance, accessibility and audience engagement.
  • Lead the Social Media team by setting expectations, providing coaching and feedback, supporting development, recognizing performance and addressing performance needs as required.
  • Research trends, industry news, partner updates and emerging digital engagement platforms to keep content current and effective.
  • Develop relationships with airport peers to collaborate on shared issues and identify opportunities for stronger digital and social storytelling.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation, with a proven track record of successful campaigns.
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate ideas into compelling digital content and campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience either directly or indirectly including coaching, feedback, priority setting, and nurturing skill development

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Knowledge of video production, photography, digital asset management, Adobe Creative Suite or other content creation tools.
  • Knowledge of the airport, aviation, tourism or transportation industry.
