Full Job Description
The Electronic Payment Business Analysis team works directly with designated business units and the applications supporting ACH, Wires, and Instant Payments. Team members maintain accurate documentation, define and document business requirements, plan and execute appropriate testing, validate production implementations, and provide end-user support.

As the Manager of Core Banking Business System Support, you will lead the Electronic Payments Business System Analysis team, partnering with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors to identify and implement business systems solutions. You will support changes to business processes, policies, and information systems across Core Banking Operations, with responsibility for applications and users supporting ACH, Wires, and Instant Payments. This role requires close collaboration with business unit stakeholders, internal technical services teams, and external vendors to support ACH, Wires, and Instant Payments and to develop effective solutions that meet business needs and promote reliable operations. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by Bank Operations leadership.

This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site / Fri remote) at the UMB Technology & Operations Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

How you will spend your time:
  • Lead and manage the Electronic Payments Business System Analysts team supporting applications and users across ACH, Wires, and Instant Payments within Core Banking Operations.
  • Identify, hire, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners, technical services teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Develop a strong understanding of, and actively manage, multiple vendor relationships supporting Core Banking Operations.
  • Document business requirements for applications within Core Banking Operations, including in-house and outsourced solutions.
  • Partner with internal Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) teams and external vendors to design technical solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Configure application-enabled business systems and support the implementation of system changes.
  • Develop, review, and approve testing activities-including unit, integration, system, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing-in partnership with the internal Quality Assurance team.
  • Coordinate and execute validation activities for production implementations.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation.
  • Manage non-governance initiatives by identifying tasks, preparing estimates, and developing work plans.
  • Support UMB's business and technology strategies by evaluating opportunities to enhance operations and prepare for future business needs.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable banking laws, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Monitor notifications, updates, and guidance from the Federal Reserve, SWIFT, clearing houses, and other applicable payment industry organizations; assess impacts and coordinate timely updates to processes, procedures, systems, and controls to ensure compliance.
  • Follow internal policies and procedures and ensure activities comply with applicable regulations, including Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation DD, and Regulation E.

  • Working knowledge of the Project Management Life Cycle and ability to apply project management methodology to medium scale projects.

Compensation Range:
$117,900 - $173,393
