Full Job Description
Role

The Skoll Foundation is hiring a Manager, Convenings & Partnerships based in Washington, DC. This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, including Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday required onsite in the Washington, DC office.

The Manager, Convenings & Partnerships is the primary day-to-day owner of the Skoll World Forum's Bigger Tent partnership ecosystem and private events portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of partnership execution, logistics, and cross-organizational coordination - ensuring that SWF ecosystem partners are meaningfully activated, private events run seamlessly, and the Convenings team's administrative and cross-org touchpoints are managed with precision.

The Manager also flexes to support strategic convenings and community events beyond SWF, providing logistics and coordination support for Skoll-hosted and partner events outside of Oxford. Reporting to the Associate Director & Producer, Convenings, this role serves as a critical bridge between the Convenings team's strategic ambitions and on-the-ground execution across partnerships, events, and internal coordination.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate brings strong relationship management skills, a bias toward execution, and the organizational acumen to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced environment. They will be a natural connector, comfortable building trust with external partners while managing the internal logistics and cross-org coordination that keep the Convenings team running smoothly.

A skilled project manager, the Manager will bring exceptional attention to detail, warmth and professionalism in partner-facing interactions, and the flexibility to shift priorities as needs evolve. They will be energized by the variety of this role - moving between partnership strategy, event logistics, grant coordination, and administrative systems - and motivated by the Skoll Foundation's mission to catalyze transformational social change.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary owner of "Bigger Tent" ecosystem partner activations - including Marmalade Festival, The Sidebar, and other complementary Forum Week events - managing day-to-day relationships, scheduling, and alignment with SWF branding and delegate experience goals
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand ecosystem partnerships that enhance Skoll Week in Oxford
  • Support coordination and partner relations for Access Partnership program with 5-10 nonprofits

SWF Private Events & Onsite Logistics (25%)

  • Manage internal planning and coordination of Skoll-hosted private events; serve as the primary internal point of contact for requests, scheduling, and logistics
  • Support planning and delivery of evening and evergreen events, coordinating logistics (venue, catering, timing, vendor interface) with external planning agency
  • Support Producer with projects as needed
  • Lead accessibility planning and inclusivity efforts at SWF, including Accessibility Guide and coordination with external planning agency to support on-the-ground accessibility efforts

Global Convenings Support (20%)

  • Support planning and execution of select convenings beyond SWF, assisting with logistics, partner coordination, and on-site experience (Summer/Fall)
  • Contribute to cross-functional collaboration with Community, Communications, and other Foundation teams as the strategic convenings portfolio evolves

Project Management, Administration & Cross-Org Coordination (25%)

  • Design and maintain project management systems, trackers, and shared documentation for Convenings team

  • Support Executive and Board engagement: scheduling, briefing prep, and document coordination related to Convening programs
  • Cross-org collaboration: maintain Skoll Central intranet pages, coordinate cross-departmental calendars and resource sharing, manage internal communications
  • Contribute to post-event evaluation and process improvement
