DePuy Synthes is seeking a proactive and strategic Trauma Commercial Operations Manager to lead a team responsible for improving field inventory operational efficiency within the Trauma Orthopaedics division. This role is accountable for translating Commercial Operations and Field Sales priorities into effective execution, supporting inventory readiness, and driving consistent operational performance across assigned territories and accounts. The manager will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to strengthen field support, enable growth, and deliver reliable service to healthcare partners.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and People Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Operations specialists supporting assigned field territories and accounts.
  • Set clear priorities, expectations, and performance standards to ensure consistent execution and accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on customer service, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Operations Execution
  • Translate Commercial Operations and Field Sales priorities into actionable plans for assigned areas.
  • Partner with Field Sales leadership to support growth objectives, improve operational readiness, and address territory-specific needs.
  • Ensure operational processes, particularly field inventory and account support, are aligned to business priorities.

Inventory Management and Field Support
  • Oversee orthopaedic consignment inventory and equipment activity across assigned accounts and territories.
  • Guide the team in maintaining appropriate par levels, supporting inventory redeployment, and minimizing excess, waste, and service gaps.
  • Ensure timely follow-through on inventory movements, returns, reconciliation, and issue resolution.

New Product Introduction and Deployment Support
  • Coordinate team support for new product launches, deployment activities, and account readiness.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to ensure resources, inventory, and communication are aligned.
  • Monitor launch execution and help resolve barriers that could impact adoption, service levels, or sales support.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a key liaison between Field Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and other Commercial Operations partners.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to improve workflow, communication, and issue resolution.
  • Influence across functions to align operational activity with commercial strategies and customer needs.

Process Improvement and Governance
  • Identify opportunities to standardize processes, reduce variation, and improve end-to-end execution.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen inventory accuracy, service levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote adherence to applicable procedures, compliance expectations, and documentation standards.

Performance Management and Reporting
  • Establish, track, and communicate KPIs related to inventory performance, service levels, operational efficiency, and team execution.
  • Review performance trends with team members and stakeholders to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular updates, risks, and recommended actions to senior leadership.

Market Awareness and Responsiveness
  • Monitor field feedback, account needs, and market trends that may impact inventory planning and operational support.
  • Adjust team priorities and support plans in response to changing business conditions, customer needs, and sales opportunities.
  • Escalate risks and recommend solutions to improve responsiveness and business continuity.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Logistics, Operations, Healthcare Management, Commercial Operations, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in inventory management and sales enablement.
  • Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Strong understanding of commercial planning, sales operations, field inventory processes, and CRM platforms.
  • Proven analytical skills, including experience using Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, AI tools, or similar platforms to generate insights and support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders.

Preferred:
  • Experience in the medical device industry or a similarly regulated healthcare environment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and ERP platforms, particularly SAP and Movemedical.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality expectations, and compliance standards related to inventory management and supply chain processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity, manage multiple priorities, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.

On October 14, 2025, Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

It is anticipated following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes, and your employment would be governed by Orthopaedics employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Details of any planned changes would be provided to you by Orthopaedics at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
