Full Job Description
To support the expansion of investigator-initiated research, clinical trials, and quality improvement initiatives, Halton Healthcare is recruiting a **Clinical Research Program Manager** to provide day-to-day leadership, operational oversight, and strategic program development.
This role is responsible for building and managing the operational infrastructure required to support a growing hospital-based research program. The Manager will oversee research operations, grant and contract processes, research finances, regulatory compliance, and partnerships, while supporting physicians and clinical teams in the successful execution of research and innovation projects.
**Research Program Operations & Infrastructure**
- Provide operational leadership for the hospital's clinical research program
- Develop and implement standardized processes, workflows, and tools to support research activities
- Build scalable infrastructure to support investigator-initiated studies, clinical trials, and quality improvement projects
- Oversee feasibility review and onboarding of new research projects
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethics, privacy, and institutional policies
- Develop research policies, SOPs, and operational frameworks
- Act as operational liaison with Research Ethics Board, Privacy Office, Legal, and Finance
- Support development and execution of the institutional research strategy
**Grants, Contracts & Research Agreement Development and Oversight**
• Oversee full lifecycle of research agreements including clinical trial agreements, industry contracts, collaboration and data sharing agreements
• Lead development and negotiation of research budgets and cost-recovery models
• Support investigators in grant applications and funding opportunities
• Oversee grants and award administration and reporting
• Liaise with legal counsel and external partners as required
**Financial Oversight**
- Manage research program operating budget and project financial tracking
- Develop financial models for research growth and sustainability
- Monitor project budgets, invoicing, and sponsor payments
- Support development of donor reporting and stewardship materials
- Identify opportunities to expand research funding and partnerships
**Qualifications**
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in clinical research operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Research Administration, Health Administration, or related field; Master's degree in Health Administration, Clinical Epidemiology, Business Administration, or otherwise will be considered an asset
- Clinical Research certification will be considered an asset(ICH-GCP, Health Canada Division 5)
- Strong working knowledge and experience in managing research projects
- Strong knowledge of research regulations and ethics processes
- Experience working in hospital or academic research environment
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to accurately summarize and communicate information
- Collaborative team player, working with internal and external interested parties to accomplish objectives in a changing environment
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in and contribute to an integrated and collaborative team environment and to apply a positive team approach
- Experience with trail budgeting
- Ability to influence decision makers and provide guidance on research operations
- Advanced project and portfolio management skills
- High level of proficiency using Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft Office software: MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Word, etc.

**Hours**: Mon-Fri - 7.5 hour, Days (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
**Salary**: $117,177.45 to $146,523.00 annually
