Description
Position OverviewThe Client Funds Accounting Manager is responsible overseeing all of our client funds accounts
for Paylocity and assessing/projecting risk and supporting strategic business initiatives related to
client funds accounting.

- Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objective.
- Advise members of the CFA team on what measures to take with bank files that prevent the company from reconciling accountings, while working internally to resolve.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment focused on achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Makes decisions based on experience and ability to anticipate problem situations and be proactive in reducing liability.
- Collaborate with Product Team and other internal stakeholders in the testing and rollout of new business initiatives.
- Act as a liaison to Accounting, Tax operations and Treasury.
- Analyze client balances at a high level to determine risk and potential losses.
- Directly manage, coach and counsel Client Funds Analysts.
- Review aging issues that are outstanding or need to be escalated to ensure the company is not at risk.
- Determine whether additional departmental escalation need to be made to close out items.
- Identify and project any possible risks and define the measures that need to be taken.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve client funds accounting processes, systems, and procedures.
- Review and approve Daily and Weekly reconciliation for payroll/tax accounts.
- Prepares month end reconciliations, researches financial differences, and provides support to Corporate Accounting.
- Support Audit teams to ensure timely delivery of documentation requests related to SOX/SOC and other compliance requirements.
- Monitors cash across total client base to mitigate risk, ensures activity is properly recorded, and recommends mechanisms to address cash shortfalls/excesses with action plans for resolution Develops policies and procedures that promote strong internal controls, increase efficiency, and enable rapid scaling.
- Work closely with the Banking/Tax Treasury and Finance leadership teams to coordinate and drive enhancements to MasterTax or Web Pay activities as needed.
- Review and approve Client Credits in accordance with Company policies.
- Review and approve process documentation.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- +5 years' experience in a payroll service or banking operations strongly desired
- +3 years' supervisory experience
- MasterTax Software experience a plus
- Proficiency in MS applications including Excel and Access
- Problem Solving Ability
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Excellent Team and individual work ethic preferred
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in MS applications including Excel and Access
- High level of integrity
Fully Remote (U.S. Only): This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.
Physical requirements- Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
- Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
The base pay range for this position is $79,100 - $113,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
