Manager, CeraVe Color & Artwork, L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty - Clark, New Jersey

We are seeking a Manager, Color & Artwork, where you will lead and oversee all color matching and aesthetic management for CeraVe's packaging components, based in our Clark, New Jersey Operations Hub for the US. In this role, you will apply expert color science to assess and approve color development across materials like PCR plastic resins, paper cartons, and labels, partnering closely with Marketing, Operations, and technical teams to drive high-quality, cost-efficient, and sustainable decoration concepts while ensuring strict adherence to timelines and quality standards.

A Day in the Life:
  • Color & Aesthetic Management
    • Lead and oversee color matching for CeraVe packaging components based on Marketing's decoration brief across multiple zones.
    • Apply expert color science to assess and approve color development across PCR plastic resins, paper cartons, and labels for aesthetic consistency.
    • Conduct risk analyses on marketing aesthetic briefs, providing recommendations for highest perceived value at lowest cost.
    • Assist and oversee on-site print trials and press approvals to ensure color and decoration compliance with L'Oréal quality standards.
    • Contribute to artwork routing and system-based artwork approval processes.
  • Packaging Project Execution
    • Manage packaging tasks for lower complexity projects, including specification issuance and critical testing (compatibility, decoration validation, light resistance).
    • Drive extrapolation on testing and homologation through close collaboration with technical teams, Marketing, and Development.
  • Project Leadership & Risk Mitigation
    • Anticipate and escalate potential blocking points, ensuring Color & Artwork owned deadlines are met and launches stay on schedule.
    • Utilize L'Oréal's Risk Elevation Process to formulate robust action plans for timing or conception risks.
    • Serve as a technical lead and point of contact to support and upskill other color & artwork developers.
  • Innovation, Sustainability & Strategic Collaboration
    • Lead sustainable decoration solution developments in alignment with L'Oréal's group-wide commitments.
    • Provide expert advice in conception meetings to optimize project complexity, minimize time-to-market, and reinforce awareness of financial impacts (e.g., sample costs, press approvals).
    • Support global operations partners on projects executed in other zones.


We Are Looking For:
  • Education: A completed Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering/technical discipline is required
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in product development or project management within dermo-cosmetics, prestige beauty, or consumer goods is required.
  • Proficient PC skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with all organizational levels and suppliers.
  • Good organizational skills to manage documentation, materials, and information.
  • The ability to be onsite, in the office at least 3 days a week, and travel between NJ/NY L'Oréal sites as well as US vendor sites (10-15% of time) is required
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis is required. No immigration support/sponsorship offered for this role.

  • Base Salary Range: $90,200 - $128,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
