Job DescriptionThe Manager, Capital Planning is responsible for leading day-to-day execution of capital planning, reporting, and capital accounting coordination. This role bridges accounting accuracy with forward-looking capital analytics, ensuring the Regional Finance team has timely, reliable insight to support investment decisions.
This role reports to the Director, Capital Planning. This role leads a team of Finance Analysts at various levels
What You'll Do: - Oversee capital reporting and analytics (Eagle Cap, Third Party Management expansion readiness, other owner-specific requirements).
- Drive development of capital performance metrics and reporting standards.
- Manage development and project activities (PUD, remodels, loan draws) in coordination with Plant/Operations, Accounting & Debt Placement.
- Collaborate with the Regional Finance team to align strategic priorities and deliver actionable insights that inform and support capital investment decisions.
- Leads capital budgeting and forecasting processes with Regional Finance.
- Apply and communicate capitalization policies consistently and escalated appropriately, partnering with Technical Accounting COE and Capex Accounting COE.
- Collaborate on insurance and casualty claim accounting and tracking.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex issues and judgment calls related to capital planning and analysis.
- Partner with Accounting COEs, Finance COEs, Regional Finance, and other departments to support business objectives.
- Responsible for the effective management and leadership of a team. This includes, but is not limited to: hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and managing performance, allocating compensation, effectively handling employee relations issues, and managing terminations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For:- Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; or equivalent years of experience
- Minimum of 6 years experience in capital accounting, FP&A, or asset-focused finance roles
- Proven experience leading managers and/or complex teams
- Advanced Excel and reporting/analytics capabilities
- Strong command of financial and analytical frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Lead through ambiguity and competing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate effectively across functions and leadership levels.
- Design, scale, and improve operating models
- Strong executive-level communication and decision-support skills
