Job Description:

As the Manager, Analytics & Data Engineering within Global Parts Pricing Analytics (GPP), you will lead a global team of data scientists, data engineers, advanced analytics engineers, and machine learning professionals responsible for delivering scalable analytics, automation, and AI-driven solutions that support Caterpillar's pricing strategy and business operations. You will partner closely with business and IT leaders to identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact opportunities that improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and business performance through analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence.

This role combines people leadership, technical depth, and business partnership to deliver measurable business value across Caterpillar's aftermarket pricing organization. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading teams, influencing strategy, and leveraging modern cloud, analytics, and AI technologies to solve complex business challenges.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and develop a global team of data scientists, data engineers, advanced analytics engineers, and machine learning professionals delivering analytics, and automation to business problems.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify, scope, prioritize, and execute high-value analytics and AI opportunities that drive measurable business impact.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, automation, and AI capabilities across the Global Parts Pricing organization.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and career development for technical teams while building a strong analytics and Data Engineer talent pipeline.
  • Translate complex business challenges into scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Manage key enterprise data assets to ensure data quality, governance, controls, and accessibility are maintained.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across Snowflake and AWS environments supporting aftermarket pricing analytics and operations.
  • Monitor, communicate, and influence key business performance metrics through data-driven insights and recommendations.

Stay informed of emerging technologies and identify new opportunities to leverage analytics, and automation to improve business outcomes.

What You Have:

Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing technical teams within Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Machine Learning environments.
  • Proven ability to partner with business leaders to prioritize initiatives, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving alignment across technical and non-technical audiences.

Communication & Influence
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analytical and technical concepts for all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to present recommendations, insights, and business cases to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence strategic direction through data-driven decision making.

Analytics, AI & Problem Solving
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI principles.
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and develop scalable solutions.
  • Experience leveraging analytics, automation, and AI to solve complex business problems.

Technical Expertise
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Python
    • SQL
    • Snowflake
    • AWS Cloud Technologies
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms, data engineering pipelines, and cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and deployment practices supporting analytics and AI solutions.


What Will Set You Apart:
  • Strong business domain knowledge in pricing, procurement, engineering, or related commercial functions.
  • Experience leading teams that span Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and Machine Learning disciplines.
  • Previous hands-on analytics experience solving a wide range of business challenges across the value chain, from data engineering and analytics to AI-enabled decision support.
  • Experience building and scaling machine learning and AI solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • AWS Bedrock
    • Snowflake
    • Dataiku
    • Aha!
  • Experience influencing organizational strategy and driving adoption of advanced analytics and AI capabilities.
  • Experience operating in large, matrixed organizations with global stakeholders.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $240,110.00
