Key Responsibilities

1.

Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and support the accounting team, creating an environment that encourages learning, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and ongoing development of team members.
  • Provide clear expectations, regular feedback, and recognition to foster engagement and retention.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and shared success.


2.

Financial Operations
  • Manage daily accounting functions including cash, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and review of monthly financial statements and supporting reconciliations.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the Revenue Cycle Manager to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.
  • Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Support the annual Medicare/Medicaid Cost Report and annual audit activities.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and that all related records, taxes, and reporting requirements are properly maintained.
  • Oversee financial management and compliance for all grant and donor-restricted funding, including budget tracking, reporting, audit support, and cross-functional coordination with Development to ensure alignment with donor intent and regulatory requirements.

Process Improvement and Organizational Impact
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance accuracy across accounting operations.
  • Lead or support implementation of system enhancements and workflow improvements.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide meaningful insights that support decision making.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to strengthen financial processes and support organizational goals.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred.
