Summary Of How You Will Impact SkyloWe are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing Controllership to help fulfill Skylo's mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. Our team builds scalable processes to support Skylo's financial reporting and compliance needs.
You will be a critical member of the team reporting to the Controller. You will oversee core accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain internal controls in compliance with US GAAP and company policies. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, experience managing the month-end close process, and the ability to improve processes through automation and systems.
How You Will Contribute Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting- Develop and maintain scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Manage key components of the close process including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for key balance sheet accounts.
- Perform financial analysis and monthly variance reviews to support management reporting and business decision making.
- Support preparation of consolidated financial statements including intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and analytical schedules for internal leadership. Coordinate accounting and reporting for foreign subsidiaries and ensure alignment between local statutory reporting and US GAAP reporting.
Technical Accounting and Contract Review for Significant and Nonstandard Transactions- Research complex accounting matters and prepare technical accounting memos related to significant accounting matters, such as ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 lease accounting, and consolidation.
- Review contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition implications.
- Provide guidance to cross functional teams on accounting policies and financial reporting requirements.
Process Improvement and Automation- Identify and implement automation solutions within financial operations using ERP and finance systems.
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and support scalable growth.
- Leverage technology, analytics, and AI tools to enhance accounting workflows and reporting.
Audit and Tax Compliance- Coordinate external audits and manage auditor requests and timelines.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain audit ready accounting records and support SOX-ready compliance activities where applicable.
- Support tax compliance activities including coordination with external tax advisors, preparation of tax related schedules to ensure timely filing of federal, state, and international tax returns.
Collaboration- Partner with finance, operations, and cross functional teams to improve processes and reporting.
- Work with both onshore and offshore accounting teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
What We Look For - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
- 6+ years of accounting experience including experience with Big 4 firms and technology companies.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP with experience researching and documenting technical accounting conclusions.
- Experience reviewing contracts and applying accounting guidance to complex transactions.
- Experience with finance systems such as NetSuite, Ramp, FloQast, or similar accounting platforms.
- Experience using automation, analytics, or AI tools to improve accounting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Additional InformationThe compensation range for this position is: $150,000 - $160,000
. This range reflects the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.
