Job Description:

Shield AI is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. As Shield AI continues to expand globally, this role presents an opportunity to support and enhance the accounting function at a high-growth, mission-driven technology company. Reporting to the Accounting Director, this role will manage key components of the global accounting close process, intercompany activities, and process improvement initiatives while helping to build scalable infrastructure that supports audit readiness and future public-company standards.

What you'll do:

  • Manage and execute key accounting operations, including the monthly global close and consolidation process (with intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation), general ledger accounting, review of accrual entries, and oversight of cash transaction processing and reconciliations.
  • Partner with the broader finance team to ensure a timely close and reporting cycle and assist in the execution of team objectives.
  • Assist in the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls in preparation for future SOX compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of accounting systems and processes.
  • Support change management initiatives through clear documentation and adherence to governance practices.
  • Promote quality and accuracy across the organization through ongoing review, verification, and reconciliation activities.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging accounting trends.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the company's strategic objectives.


Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience working within a robust internal control environment; familiarity with SOX compliance is a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation, with demonstrated communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proven experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion while incorporating feedback from multiple sources.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Experience in aerospace & defense industries.
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, interpret operational needs, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven decisiveness in resolving business challenges, making informed decisions, and establishing clear priorities.


$100,000 - $160,000 a year
