Full Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB This role supports the Finance department by leading key accounting functions across all Forever Orange entities. Responsibilities include overseeing the monthly close process and consolidation of seven operating entities; maintaining GAAP-compliant accounting policies and the chart of accounts; managing the annual audit, internal controls, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, and payroll review; preparing financial statements and league reporting; and supervising day-to-day accounting operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Oversees the monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions for all Forever Orange entities.
  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Oversees and maintains internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, applicable laws, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly account reconciliations, financial analyses, and close schedules to provide management with timely and meaningful financial information for decision-making.
  • Leads the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate financial information to management.
  • Oversees the accounts payable process by reviewing purchase invoices to ensure appropriate approvals, accurate coding, and proper recording within the accounting system.
  • Reviews payroll processing and related accounting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinates and manages the annual financial statement audit, including preparing audit schedules, supporting documentation, and serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Assists with the preparation of league reporting, and other financial reporting requirements as needed.
  • Reviews event-related accounting entries and leads financial event reporting processes.
  • Partners with Finance leadership and operational departments to support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting through process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience - Required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of management experience - Required.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting - Required.
  • Experience in the sports and entertainment industry - Preferred.
  • Certified Public Accounting license - Preferred.
  • Must be proficient with computers and MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, & Outlook.

  • Comfortable in areas of personnel management, developing and implementing policies and procedures, effective training, and designing and implementing accounting and financial systems and controls.

  • Capable of handling all aspects of the accounting cycle and principles and techniques of arena/stadium operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under above-average pressure in meeting urgent deadlines.
  • Ability to work long, irregular hours and weekends as dictated by event schedules and project timetables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
