Salary Grade: 15

The base salary will be $71,970 - $102,690 per annum. Starting salary will be aligned with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Accommodated Exams, provides strategic and operational leadership for the delivery of accommodated examination services at Western University. The role ensures that students registered with Accessible Education receive approved exam accommodations in a secure, equitable, and student-centered environment that upholds academic integrity. The Manager oversees exam operations, staff, systems, and processes for the Accommodated Exams team. The role regularly collaborates with faculty and institutional partners and leads continuous improvement initiatives in response to evolving student needs, technology and University policies.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Undergraduate Degree in relevant field
  • Certificate in Leadership, Management or Project Management preferred

Experience:
  • 5 years experience in a student-focused role within a post-secondary environment
  • 3 years leadership experiences, preferably within a unionized environment
  • Experience working with students with disabilities
  • Project management experience, working with integrated systems, ideally within higher education preferred
  • Experience and/or training in supporting students in crisis and securing appropriate support
  • Experience managing and delivering academic accommodation and accessibility services preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of the needs of students with disabilities, particularly as they related to testing accommodations and exam-related stress
  • Results-oriented with the ability to motivate and coach employees to meet high performance standards, while working effectively as a member of the leadership team
  • Ability to foster teamwork and encourage team members to learn from each other
  • Strong communication skills to express ideas clearly, and adapt communication style and content for intended audiences in a professional manner
  • Ability to lead change by creating a shared vision of team success, while taking appropriate action to ensure acceptance and support
  • Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and to resolve inquiries and escalations promptly and professionally
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple assignments that are accurate and thorough, sometimes of a complex nature or involving competing priorities
  • Client service skills with an ability to apply tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive issues and a range of personalities, motives and interests
  • Competency to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office; experience with PeopleSoft HE (Campus Solutions), Salesforce, and InfoSilem preferred
  • Available for peak periods and events, including work outside regular business hours
