Residency Requirement:: All full-time employees in this position are required to reside within 30 miles from any border of Tinley Park within 12 months of employment date. Residency in Indiana is not permitted.
We currently seek a talented & motivated individual to support of our Village Manager's Office serving in the role of Management Analyst toprovide administrative and analytical support to the Village Manager's Office by conducting research, coordinating projects, and assisting with the administration of Village programs and services.
Key Responsibilities
This role will be primarily responsible for providing internal administrative support on a variety of projects including preparing studies and reports for decision-making purposes, coordinating cross-departmental projects and organizational initiatives from conception through implementation, conducting research and analysis regarding proposals for programs, grants, services, etc., and evaluating assigned village programs, policies, systems, workflows, and/or service delivery practices to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend innovative solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness, operational efficiency, and customer service. Will assist in the development, administration, and monitoring of grants, strategic plan, organizational performance measures, and other enterprise-wide initiatives.
Additional duties include supporting the Village's risk management function through administration of liability claims including data entry of claim information, follow-up on claim information requests and issues, track legal matters for reporting up to Village management, coordinate legal services (legal notices, testimony, subpoenas, etc), and other related activities. Will perform FOIA liaison duties, as requested, to include researching, compiling, and submitting responses to FOIA requests received for the Village Manager's Office within statutorily provided deadlines. Will also serve as staff liaison to assigned boards, commissions, and committees; prepare meeting materials, provide administrative support, maintain official records, and ensure compliance with applicable records retention requirements.
Will display extraordinary customer service, interact with the public, respond to phone and visitor inquiries with a focus on providing redirecting calls to appropriate staff for response and/or resolution, and respond to questions and inquiries from the public and other Village departments.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or other closely related field is required along with a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years related experience in municipal government, public body, or other closely related service field. Microsoft Office proficiency is required. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be a recent MPA graduate with a desire to service residents and businesses in a municipal government setting. They will have an outstanding work ethic, positive attitude, and be self-motivated. They will have direct knowledge of village management functions, has project management experience, and enjoys research work. They will be an excellent communicator, have the ability to multi-task, and prioritize accordingly. They must be collaborative and not afraid to roll-up their sleeves and jump in to assist with a variety of projects or tasks. They will be focused on maintaining a professional office environment and provide an exceptional level of customer service.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range - $68,000 - $78,000, DOQ
The Village of Tinley Park offers a generous benefit package including medical, dental, and vision benefits, employer-paid life insurance and other ancillary benefit options. Retirement benefits through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) are provided along with the option to participate in a 457(b) deferred compensation plan.
