Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Life Safety Coordinator / Safety Specialist (Management Analyst IV) to support FBI/ERF/AMU in Quantico, VA.

The Life Safety Coordinator / Safety Specialist ensures government facilities maintain compliance with applicable life safety, occupational safety, and emergency preparedness requirements while supporting a safe, secure, and operationally effective work environment.
The Life Safety Coordinator / Safety Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for occupational safety, life safety, and emergency preparedness activities within a government facility or agency environment. This position supports compliance with federal safety regulations, building safety standards, and organizational policies while promoting a safe and secure workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors. The individual will coordinate inspections, safety assessments, emergency preparedness efforts, and corrective actions related to life safety systems, workplace hazards, and environmental health and safety initiatives. The position requires collaboration with facilities personnel, security teams, property management staff, project managers and government leadership.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments.
. Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, agency safety policies, and applicable federal guidelines.
. Identify safety deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
. Track and document corrective action items through completion.
. Assist with accident, incident, and near miss investigations and prepare reports with recommended mitigation measures.
. Coordinate inspections and testing of life safety systems including fire alarms, fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, exit signage, and evacuation equipment.
. Support fire drills, evacuation exercises, and continuity/emergency preparedness planning.
. Assist in developing emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.
. Provide safety briefings and training for federal employees and contractors.
. Review employees work activities for safety compliance.
. Coordinate with facilities and construction personnel regarding safety requirements during projects.
. Prepare reports, presentations, and safety updates for leadership.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in occupational safety, life safety, facilities safety, or emergency management.
. Experience supporting government or federal facilities preferred. If not, trainable
. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, emergency preparedness, and workplace hazard mitigation.
. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferred.
Preferred Certifications
. OSHA 30 Hour Certification
. Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
. Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
. Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS)
. FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Training
. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
Work Environment
Work is performed in both office and operational facility environments. Position may require walking throughout facilities, climbing stairs, and responding to emergency situations.

Hourly Rate: $43.61/hour

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level, relevant experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
