The Management Analyst I classification is designed to provide a strong foundation for professional growth through progressively responsible assignments and exposure to a broad range of administrative and analytical work.

The Management Analyst I/II is a position within the County Administrative Office that plays an integral role in supporting executive leadership and the Board of Supervisors. This position performs administrative, fiscal, legislative, and policy analysis; assists with budget development and monitoring; coordinates special projects; prepares reports and recommendations; and works with departments, partner agencies, and regional organizations to help guide informed decision-making and effective County operations.

As a member of the County Administrative Office, the Management Analyst I/II will support a small, high-impact team that works on initiatives affecting the entire organization. This position provides the opportunity to contribute to policy and legislative analysis, budget development, Board of Supervisors materials, and special projects involving County departments and regional partners. From supporting strategic initiatives to coordinating programs such as groundwater sustainability efforts with the Colusa Groundwater Authority and partner agencies, this role offers the opportunity to analyze complex issues, foster collaboration, and see the direct impact of your work on the future of Colusa County.

Supervision & Examples of Duties

Receives general direction from the County Administrative Officer, Assistant County Administrative Officer, or their designee. May provide lead direction on assigned projects, but does not exercise formal supervision over staff

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Management Analyst I

Experience:
Equivalent to some professional administrative, fiscal, or policy-related experience involving research, analysis, or program support.

Education:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, Finance, Environmental Policy, Public Policy, Natural Resources, or a related field.

Licensing or Certifications:
May require possession of a valid California driver's license.

Management Analyst II

Experience:
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in administrative, fiscal, policy, or legislative analysis, preferably within a public agency or County Administrative Office environment.

Education:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, Finance, Environmental Policy, Public Policy, Natural Resources, or a related field.

Licensing or Certifications:
May require possession of a valid California driver's license.
Supplemental Information

Management Analyst I: $5,621 - $9,227 MONTHLY
Management Analyst II: $5,906 - $9,695 MONTHLY
