Responsibilities

Job Title: Mammography Technologist
Location: St. Marys, GA
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Pay Range: $32.22 - $48.37 per hour, based on experience
Sign-On Bonus: None

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Mammography Technologist to join a growing imaging team in St. Marys, Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for an imaging professional who is passionate about women's health, patient care, and producing high-quality diagnostic images in a supportive healthcare environment.

The Mammography Technologist will provide direct patient care while performing accurate mammography procedures, maintaining imaging quality standards, and ensuring a safe and positive experience for every patient.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality mammography procedures according to established protocols and provider orders
  • Review imaging orders, medical histories, anatomy, and clinical indications to ensure accuracy and medical necessity
  • Consult with radiologists regarding potential contraindications or clinical concerns when appropriate
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, privacy, and satisfaction throughout the imaging process
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients and answer questions regarding what to expect before and after imaging
  • Obtain accurate medical histories and complete required safety documentation and patient consents
  • Contact ordering providers when errors or discrepancies are identified in imaging orders to prevent delays in patient care
  • Safely operate mammography equipment, positioning aids, power injectors, and other equipment used during imaging procedures
  • Follow all radiation safety, contrast media, patient privacy, and HIPAA requirements
  • Perform and document required mammography quality assurance and quality control procedures
  • Maintain accurate procedure and supply charges for billing purposes
  • Coordinate patient flow and communicate with physicians, nursing staff, respiratory therapy, and other clinical team members as needed
  • Identify and report equipment issues to department leadership to maintain a safe working environment and minimize downtime
  • Complete required annual education, competencies, and departmental training
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and patient-centered approach with patients, coworkers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team

Qualifications

Required
  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiology program
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • Current BLS certification
  • ARRT (R)(M) certification or ability to obtain Mammography certification within 12 months of hire

Preferred
  • One or more years of mammography experience
  • Mammography certification
  • Experience performing mammography QA/QC
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
