Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install machinery in the plant to ensure optimal operation.
  • Conduct general building maintenance to uphold facility standards.
  • Perform welding, basic electrical installation, and machine shop tasks as needed.
  • Drive performance improvements by supporting the Maintenance Manager with KPI initiatives.
  • Participate in technical training sessions both on and off-site as required.
  • Ensure compliance with SQF and food safety standards within the facility.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

Job Details

The Maintenance Technician supports the Maintenance Manager in providing support, direction, and training to achieve KPI improvements through driving operational performance. Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing all machinery in the plant.
  • General building maintenance.
  • Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to: welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical circuits, basic electrical installation, basic prints, e.g., assembly drawings, parts drawings, power transmission, bearings, thread pipe, and basic machine shop work.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Look up parts and work with OEMs.
  • Read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Use the computer to process work notifications (SAP).
  • Qualify to operate forklift, aerial bloom lift, and scissor lift.
  • Work on platforms approximately 15 feet above the ground level.
  • Particpate in technical training on or off site.
  • Strong electrical engineering background.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills.
  • Must be able to work other shifts and overtime as necessary.
Required Experience:
  • Knowledge and ability to test, troubleshoot, and service all types of electrical equipment including AC and DC drives, PLC's and their associated control networks and I/O.
  • Experience testing, maintaining, and calibrating electrical equipment using sound, troubleshooting, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • 2 years of work experience in an electrical/mechanical maintenance setting.
Physical Demands:
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs. frequently (11-33% of the time) and lifting 21-60 lbs. occassionaly (1-10% of the time).
  • Requires use of both hands and feet frequently.
  • Both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive actions continuously.
  • Ability to stand, climb, walk, and kneel frequently.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach above the shoulder and at waist or lower, twist, stretch, push/pull with force up to 45 lbs., carry, and grasp with force up to 90 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and have agility on a continuous basis.
  • Rarely laying on back to complete prevenative and breakdown maintenance to perform mechanical and electrical services.
  • Read computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Work in areas of flucuating temperature and loud noises.
PAY RANGE: $31.60 - $47.03

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities:

Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of SQF/5S and other company standards.
