Description

Maintenance Technician AWS 3rd Shift

Germantown, WI

Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM 2-2-3

Pay: Up to $40.

Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for successfully executing work orders, tasks, trouble calls, and projects as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor in the Aseptic Packaging and Processing, Filler, Case Packer, Capper, Mix Blend, Silo, and CIP areas. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for actively supporting and pursuing processes and training designed to support professional growth, while consistently ensuring a safe and secure work environment that operates in compliance with SOPs and GMPs.

What You'll Do:
• Carry out a variety of mechanical and electromechanical activities.
• Demonstrate proficiency in both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Respond to equipment trouble calls by accurately assessing issues, clearly defining problem statements, involving appropriate resources, and resolving problems in an expedient manner using effective troubleshooting techniques.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and diagnostic maintenance on production and processing equipment, both scheduled and unscheduled.
• Ensure all completed work is properly tested, validated, and ready for production when required.
• Maintain awareness of daily business objectives, complete required documentation, accurately record all work in the maintenance tracking system (CMMS) and/or technical reports (e.g., logbooks and work orders), and actively participate in shift handovers and information transfer meetings.
• Participate in the development and documentation of maintenance plans for assigned equipment, including defining work scope, required parts and tools, and maintenance frequency.
• Support activities such as UPS, FIT Team initiatives, and other projects as required.
• Research and procure new materials, parts, and supplies to improve equipment performance and resolve recurring issues, including writing work orders, coordinating with the MRO department, and installing parts on equipment.
• Take ownership of complex or recurring equipment issues and drive them to resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What You'll Need:
• High school diploma with 2-5 years of experience in food processing and high-speed filling equipment
• Experience in maintenance and repair within food processing or a related industrial field
• Experience troubleshooting aseptic food packaging machinery
• Working knowledge of boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, and chillers
• Experience using Computerized Service Maintenance Management Software (CSMMS) in an industrial environment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and equipment documentation
• Knowledge of safe electrical and mechanical work practices
• Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and charting tools
• Experience working in a self-directed team environment
• Knowledge of electrical systems, electronics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motion control systems
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Experience with servo-motor-driven systems, AC and DC electrical systems, and motor drives
• Experience performing machine changeovers, conversions, and precision equipment setup
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry
