Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the execution of all maintenance and reliability activities at the Memphis site by coordinating the planning & scheduling and delegating maintenance work. This role provides technical and personnel leadership for maintenance craftsmen and contractors, oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, manages storeroom and spare parts inventory, and coordinates plant turnarounds and shutdowns.

The position serves as the primary link between Operations, Engineering, Reliability, Safety, and Maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant assets. Responsibilities include maintenance planning and scheduling through SAP, workforce supervision, executing reliability improvement initiatives, executing mechanical integrity compliance, contractor management, and turnaround execution.

The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for improving equipment reliability, reducing maintenance costs, maximizing asset utilization, optimizing inventory, and maintaining compliance with all corporate and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership & Workforce Management (40%)
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and training for Maintenance Mechanics and E&I personnel.
  • Supervise daily maintenance activities and assign work priorities.
  • Coordinate internal and contract resources to meet maintenance objectives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Reliability, and Safety teams to minimize equipment failures and optimize plant performance.
  • Support troubleshooting of process and utility systems.
  • Lead maintenance-related projects involving equipment replacement, upgrades, and expansions.
  • Monitor and improve key maintenance performance indicators, including:
  • Work Order Completion
  • Preventive Maintenance Compliance
  • Asset Utilization
  • Repeat Equipment Failures
  • Maintenance Backlog
  • Participate in budgeting and resource planning activities.
  • Support SMART initiatives and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Coordinate plant shutdown activities with production and technical teams.


Maintenance Planning, Scheduling & Execution (30%)
  • Develop job scopes for emergency, preventive, predictive, corrective, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance work using SAP and site work management processes.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, tools, contractors, and equipment resources
  • Lead weekly and daily scheduling meetings with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance procedures and workflow processes from notification through work order completion.
  • Create and maintain:
  • Bills of Material (BOMs)
  • Maintenance Plans
  • Task Lists
  • Equipment Records
  • Procure maintenance materials and coordinate vendor support as needed.
  • Support audits including PSM, ISO, AIMS, and other compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate SAP training and maintenance process improvements.


Turnaround Planning & Execution (20%)
  • Define, plan, schedule, and execute plant turnaround and shutdown activities.
  • Coordinate turnaround scope development for:
  • Mechanical Integrity work
  • Reliability improvements
  • HES action items
  • Capital and improvement projects
  • Develop shutdown and startup plans with Operations and Engineering.
  • Lead turnaround planning meetings and resource coordination sessions.
  • Obtain contractor quotations and develop requisitions.
  • Coordinate outside services, materials, and specialty contractors.
  • Monitor turnaround execution to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.


Storeroom & Inventory Management (10%)
  • Lead efforts to improve spare parts management systems.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses to identify inventory and storeroom deficiencies.
  • Develop corrective action plans to improve inventory accuracy and accessibility.
  • Organize physical and digital inventory using SMART methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and spare parts data within SAP.
  • Support equipment BOM optimization and critical spare part identification.


Min Years of Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with maintenance planning and scheduling systems.
  • Preferred experience with coordinating maintenance shutdowns and turnaround activities.


Education and area of focus
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent maintenance and reliability leadership experience may be considered


Certifications/Trainings:
  • None Required
  • Green Belt Certification Preferred

  • Champion safe work practices across all maintenance activities.


Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Frequent movement throughout a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment.
  • Exposure to industrial manufacturing environments containing continuous chemical processes and hazardous materials.
  • Occasional off-hours support during emergencies, outages, and turnarounds.
  • Limited travel as required.
