Maintenance Supervisor — Tube & Core Manufacturing

Greif is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to support maintenance operations at our Bay Minette Tube Plant. This position is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians who perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment improvements on electrical and mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance leader who can effectively coordinate maintenance activities, develop team members, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and partner closely with production and operational teams to ensure safe and reliable plant performance.
What You'll Do
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee daily maintenance activities and support equipment reliability throughout the facility. You will lead maintenance personnel, coordinate repair and preventive maintenance efforts, analyze equipment performance, and help implement improvements that enhance productivity, uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.
You will work closely with Operations, Safety, Engineering, and Operational Excellence teams to support plant goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for plant equipment and facility systems.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians responsible for preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements that increase equipment availability, capability, and yield.
- Analyze maintenance and equipment data to identify trends, improve reliability, and support operational performance.
- Perform and support equipment failure investigations, including preventive and unscheduled maintenance analyses.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Prepare technical reports documenting maintenance activities, equipment modifications, and improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain equipment maintenance procedures, standards, and documentation.
- Partner with Operational Excellence (OpEx) Core Team members on Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support implementation of performance management systems, production support plans, and maintenance performance objectives.
- Create and assist with execution of improvement plans that support overall plant performance.
- Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and expectations while promoting accountability and teamwork.
- Encourage collaboration, employee engagement, problem-solving, and professional development.

- Maintain strong safety practices by ensuring machine guards, safety devices, and established procedures are followed.
- Support facility safety and environmental initiatives and promote a culture of safe work practices.

- Assist with staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development activities.
- Support annual budget planning and help manage maintenance expenditures within established targets.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Production, Safety, Engineering, Quality, and other departments.
- Travel as needed to support maintenance activities at other Greif facilities within the region.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Typically 10 or more years of maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial operations experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising maintenance personnel in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and maintenance management software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation Range:
The pay range for this position is $73,700.00 - $125,300.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between90,000.00 to105,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
