Full Job Description
The location in Hawesville, (Kentucky, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Superintendent. This job is full-time permanent.

MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT

The Domtar Hawesville Mill is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent. The Maintenance Superintendent position will lead a maintenance department in maintaining a diversified array of process equipment used in the Pulp and Paper manufacturing process. This position is also responsible for attaining established goals and continuous improvement in the areas of safety, reliability, cost and personnel development.

Your profile:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Technical/trade school diploma with emphasis in engineering/engineering technology and ten (10) years of maintenance leadership experience --OR-- bachelor's degree in engineering and five (5) years of maintenance leadership experience.
  • Able & willing for on-call rotation as well as occasional extended work hours during upset conditions
  • A personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence
  • A good work ethic, positive attitude & the ability to lead a department of Maintenance personnel that includes engineers, planners and front-line supervisors.
  • Familiar with reliability-centered maintenance practices & predictive maintenance tools, including but not limited to: vibration analysis, thermography, lube analysis, ultrasonic analysis & failure analysis techniques
  • Establish, maintain & support effective programs that will promote a sustainable, environmentally responsible process of manufacturing.
  • Manage the performance of all direct and indirect reports within the Maintenance Department in your area of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain a positive partnership with union leadership to ensure sustainable business operations and results.
  • Good written & oral communication skills needed to effectively communicate technical activities across all levels of the organization
  • Microsoft Office products experience
  • Frequent walking, climbing ladders & stairs; occasionally crawling into confined spaces
  • Exposure to dust, heat, dirt, grease, chemicals, noise, various weather conditions & other industrial environments
  • Use of PPE & respiratory protection is required


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and five (5) years of maintenance department leadership experience
  • Experience with SAP Enterprise system which includes Plant Maintenance management processes; DMSI (MAINTelligence) and CSI (Emerson Process) Vibration Analysis software
  • Reliability centered maintenance training
  • Pulp and paper experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and people development skills
  • Presentation skills - able to work with a diverse group of people to resolve issues
