Job Summary

The jobholder is responsible for enhancing business growth within the organization by increasing asset reliability and improving and enhancing our operational and maintenance processes. Responsible for the overall activities of the Maintenance and Reliability programs for assigned sites and or regions. Responsible for the overall coordination of the Maintenance and Reliability activities needed to maintain and improve the operations of designated facilities. Improve both our maintenance and operational processes within the continuous improvement methodology. The jobholder will ensure assigned sites operate in an efficient, economic manner in conformance with all applicable pollution, safety, GMP regulations, company policy, federal, provincial, and local laws.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Improve/implement reliability best practices and processes across the business.
  • Improve/implement continuous improvement best practices and processes across the business.
  • Maintain a safe working environment. Understand, follow, and support company policies, procedures, (i.e., lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, etc.) in addition to corporate and local safety initiatives. Assume responsibility for risk assessment. Manage and encourage all employees and contractors to be proactive around safety, including anticipating unsafe behaviors, conditions, and unusual circumstances.
  • Prepare projects and supervise the installation of assigned projects. This includes reporting on project approval and assuring the completion of the project functions as intended.
  • Responsible for the overall operations of maintenance, asset reliability, and work management processes.
  • Assist the production departments as requested, maintain equipment for operational efficiency, expedite equipment repairs, increase plant efficiency, and offer training to operational personnel, as identified.
  • Ensure that operating personnel training is conducted through the Maintenance Supervisors, OJT and Apprentice Program.
  • Provide supervision and technical expertise on major machinery, equipment and building breakdowns, overhauls, and maintenance.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain all records as required and is familiar with all principles of the Food Safety Program.
  • Complete special assignments as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree and/or minimum of 15 yrs demonstrated Operations Leadership experience across multiple roles/sites including significant maintenance and reliability experience.
  • Proven history of implementing maintenance and reliability best practices with demonstrated results.
  • Demonstrated implementation of preventive, predictive, and reliability centered maintenance strategies.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred. Familiarity with other CI tools (Kaizan, Kanban, 5S, etc.) is also preferred.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work cross functionally with operations, supply chain, FSQR, sales, and other functions as necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel.
