WHAT YOU GET TO DO

The Maintenance Quality & Standards Manager is the enterprise owner of maintenance execution quality, safety standards, cleanliness standards, reporting discipline, and audit readiness across all sites. This role ensures that maintenance and safety processes designed by Continuous Improvement (CI) are consistently applied, enforced, measured, and sustained. By driving standardization, accountability, and coaching, this position is critical to achieving safe maintenance execution, reducing operational risk, and elevating performance across the network.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Maintenance Standards, Safety & Cleanliness
  • Establish, document, and deploy standard work, SOPs, and visual standards for maintenance shops, tools, parts rooms, site cleanliness, and safe maintenance execution.
  • Ensure consistent application of maintenance safety practices, including safe work procedures, equipment servicing standards, and hazard controls.
  • Conduct routine and unannounced site audits to verify adherence to quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Score and benchmark sites on cleanliness, PM compliance, safety adherence, and maintenance discipline.

CMMS & Reporting Quality
  • Audit accuracy and consistency of work order documentation, asset data integrity, backlog management, safety-related documentation, and PM closeout.
  • Train maintenance teams and supervisors on CMMS best practices, reporting expectations, and safety documentation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and a monthly reporting cadence covering quality and safety indicators.

Process Excellence & Coaching
  • Partner closely with the CI Manager to align standard work, SOPs, safety standards, 5S, RCA, PM optimization, and workflow improvements.
  • Coach technicians and supervisors on maintenance quality standards, safe execution, root cause thinking, and preventive maintenance maturity.
  • Facilitate cross-site knowledge sharing and best practice adoption related to maintenance quality and safety.

Compliance & Risk Reduction
  • Audit regulatory, safety, and maintenance best practices are consistently applied across all locations in accordance with Knapp Safety Governance Model as defined per Knapp Safety Team.
  • Validate continuous inspection and audit readiness (fire, safety, facility audits, OEM recommendations).
  • Identify maintenance-related quality and safety risks and support corrective action plans to mitigate recurrence.

Performance Monitoring & Accountability
  • Own and publish maintenance quality and safety scorecards across all sites.
  • Identify underperforming locations and lead corrective action and improvement plans in partnership with operations and site leadership.

WHAT YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Operations, Safety, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, operations, or safety leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience with CMMS systems, PM programs, audits, and performance reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance best practices, safety standards, 5S, RCA, and preventive/predictive maintenance concepts.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority and coach teams across multiple sites.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions and Environment:
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Passport or ability to obtain passport
  • Professional office etiquette is always required
  • Travel required approximately 40-60%, including multi-site visits
  • Physical requirements: sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching arm's length, and lifting up to 50 pounds
