Maintenance Onboarding Specialist, Boston Corporate Office - Boston, MAGeneral Statement of Duties: Supports the onboarding, orientation, and initial training of maintenance and facilities team members across assigned properties. This role helps ensure a consistent, safe, and effective new hire experience by reinforcing Beacon policies, service standards, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinates onboarding activities for maintenance and facilities new hires, including orientation, systems training, safety instruction, job shadowing, skills assessment and early follow-up. Partners with Regional Maintenance Directors, Property Managers, and internal team members to support training consistency, onboarding completion, and operational readiness across the portfolio.
Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Director of Facilities or other designated Facilities Management leadership representative.
Supervision Exercised: This position does not typically supervise staff directly but may provide onboarding guidance and training support to new hires and assigned team members.

Essential Functions of the Position: (The essential functions listed below represent a range of duties that may be assigned. Not all positions will include every function listed.)
- Coordinate onboarding schedules for maintenance and facilities new hires, including orientation, job shadowing, systems training, and follow-up.
- Deliver training on Beacon policies, maintenance procedures, resident service expectations, workplace conduct, and safety practices.
- Introduce new hires to Yardi, work order processes, inventory procedures, communication tools, and reporting expectations.
- Track completion of onboarding documentation, certifications, acknowledgements, and training records in accordance with company standards.
- Partner with Regional Maintenance Directors, Property Managers, and site teams to assess new hire readiness and reinforce standardized maintenance practices.
- Conduct property and facility tours so new hires understand site layouts, critical systems, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
- Support skills training related to preventive maintenance, unit turns, inspection readiness, and resident service standards.
- Reinforce compliance with OSHA-related safety expectations, The Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, PPE requirements, hazardous materials handling procedures, and lockout/tagout practices, as assigned.
- Maintain onboarding checklists, training materials, and reference tools and recommend updates to improve consistency and effectiveness.
- Monitor onboarding progress during the first weeks of employment and communicate updates, concerns, and recommendations to leadership.
- Support internal audits, safety reviews, REAC/NSPIRE readiness efforts, and operational assessments by keeping onboarding and training documentation current.
- Partner with Human Resources, Operations, Safety, property leadership, and Beacon Service Center team members, as needed, to support onboarding across assigned properties.
- Travel to assigned properties and training locations to deliver in-person onboarding, coaching, and follow-up support; overnight stays may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:Education:- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree, vocational training, or coursework in facilities management, building systems, training, education, human resources, or a related field preferred.
Experience:- Three (3)+ years of experience in property maintenance, facilities operations, onboarding, property management support, or a related field.
- Solid experience delivering training, coaching, or orientation programs preferred.
- Experience with maintenance systems, work order processes, safety procedures, and multi-site property operations.
Qualifications and Skills:- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage onboarding schedules, maintain accurate records, and follow through on multiple priorities across assigned properties.
- Working knowledge of building systems, maintenance terminology, resident service expectations, and workplace safety practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi or similar systems preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to travel between properties and training locations, as needed.
- Valid driver's license required.
Physical Capabilities:- Ability to move about & around properties and training spaces; stand or walk for extended periods; climb stairs and/or ladders; occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, or reach; and lift up to 50 pounds, as needed.
Compensation: $105,000 - $110,000 annual salary
Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
