Full Job Description
Seeking highly skilled industrial mechanic responsible for preventive/predictive maintenance and breakdown repairs of batch and continuous processing equipment. Includes servicing operations and facility support equipment, setting up new equipment, completing small fabrication projects, participating in safety and continuous improvement programs and completing other work as assigned. This position reports to the site Maintenance and Engineering Manager.
• Perform duties safely, thoughtfully and efficiently
• Operate a clean and organized maintenance shop and toolbox
• Complete maintenance and repair tasks in the shop, offices, labs and production
• Ensure high performance of equipment and quality repairs
• Validate operation of equipment upon completion of repairs
• Perform routine cleaning, preventive service and inspections of existing equipment
• Suggest improvements for safety, minimizing repairs and reducing downtime
Minimum Requirements:
• A combination of 8+ years of industrial training and maintenance experience
• Knowledge of various trade fundamentals (mechanics, electrical, pipefitting, hydraulics, etc.) sufficient skills to diagnose and complete general repairs
• Works well individually and in groups
• Manages and prioritizes time efficiently, minimizing distractions (phone use, etc.)
• Strong math, reading, communication, documentation and organizational skills
• Proficient in computer applications (MS Office suite, CMMS, internet access and apps)
• Ability to work with required PPE at ground level and heights
• Comply with company rules and policies
Industrial Experience:
• Strong mechanical repair skills (pumps, gearboxes, vacuums, HVAC, dust collectors, forklifts)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems (power, PLC's, VFD's)
• Pipefitting, plumbing, and related skills
• Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge and experience (valves, air compressors, dryers)
• Machining, fabrication and assembly experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Twin Screw Compounding Equipment
• Experience with Batch Mixers, Mix-truders and Reactors
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preventive, and predictive maintenance.
• Previous forklift, scissor lift, rigging experience
Physical Environment:
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, use hands to move or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended, stoop
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, alone, and occasionally lift and /or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
• The employee must inspect and equip provided PPE including safety glasses, safety boots, bump or hard hats, long sleeve uniform, protective gloves, masks or respirators, etc.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $44.50 per hour.
