Position Title: Maintenance Manager
Position SummaryJoin Vantage Specialty Chemicals as a Maintenance Manager and lead our maintenance operations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of our facilities. Position ScopeThis is an in-office position that works out of the Gurnee, IL manufacturing site. Reporting to the Site Leader, the Maintenance Manager sits on the Site Leadership team. Direct Reports include a Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor. Additional indirect reports (report into the Maintenance Supervisor) include skilled Boiler Technicians, Technicians, Welders, Maintenance Mechanics and a Stockroom Coordinator. The Gurnee site is a 24/7 batch chemical manufacturing operation, sitting on 13 acres.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesList the key responsibilities for this role.
- Develop and Implement Maintenance Plans: Create and execute maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure efficient operation of all equipment and systems.
- Lead and Supervise Team: Manage a team of maintenance engineers, maintenance technicians, electricians, and parts department personnel, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards.
- Foster Team Dynamics: Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Encourage open communication, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement. Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, share knowledge, and address any challenges.
- Establish Preventive Maintenance Programs: Implement preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Enhance Equipment Reliability: Apply reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues to minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate with Vendors: Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance activities.
- Manage Maintenance Budget: Oversee the maintenance budget, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.
- Maintain Inventory Control: Keep an inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring availability when needed.
- Prepare and Present Reports: Generate regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and performance metrics.

Education & Experience:Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience with 5 years of experience in maintenance management.
Chemical manufacturing experience is a mandatory requirement.
Experience in reliability and rotating equipment
Knowledge, Skills, & Talents- Equipment Expertise: Experience with equipment used for liquid chemical processing and facility maintenance, especially rotating equipment, heat exchangers and reactors.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures, particularly in chemical manufacturing environments.

- Pay and Benefits The estimated base pay range for this position is: $128,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
